In the Beginning – History of Psychotik Orbit

It all started one day in the beginning when I realized there were a number of instruments that I could play. Also, I could record them individually to make a full song. I did it for several reasons. 1) I just wanted to know what I would sound like as a full band. 2) The music in my head. 3) Had so much fun doing it, that I kept doing it.

Logistical Difficulties

While trying to start a band, I quickly encountered the logistical difficulties. We were high school students and transportation was tough to come by. When we could, we made it work and we got some things done but there were still hiccups.

Variety of Different Sounds

There was the time I had to myself and the musical Ideas in my head. My vision for this group was to electronically sound like a variety of different sounds in the rock and bass music genre in the years to come.

First Attempt Failed

In 1995 I sounded way different than in 2023. I had a 1965 Ludwig drum set and a guitar with amps for the bass and the guitar. The only thing I needed was a bass guitar. A good friend loaned me this short-neck bass guitar. At this point I had everything I needed to make a recording with the exception of a valid 4-track cassette recorder. In lieu of the 4-track, I used 2 consumer grade cassette tape decks to record the 1s Demo in 1995. As a little side note, the first attempt failed when really the tapes were of too low a quality to perform this action. I re-did everything with the higher quality cassette tapes to get the result I had today. The sound was a loud funky snare drum with a bass drum to accompanied the arrangement.

Over the Years

The setup was simple, 1 mic to the mic in and it was off to the races. Also I had gotten a red flying V type guitar that had a lot of feedback.

Over the years, we would go to record many albums on Soundcloud and others.
