It was some time in 1995, and I was in high school. Feeling inspired by going to the local live shows and playing music instruments with friends in the dining room and garage, I decided to try and record something using 2 tape cassette decks for 3 tracks.
This allowed me to record a drum track with that which was in my head, write a bassline for it and then the guitar.
I did my own noise gate using my palm and only had a distortion pedal connected to a powerful solid state Peavy stereo amplifier.
Also had a powerful bass amp for the bass. My parents were musicians and there was a lot of handy music equipment around.
